Ministries at Keithville UMC
Christians stay connected through communion with God and fellowship with others. At Keithville UMC there are many ways to get involved in the exciting ministries of the church which nurture the spiritual life. Discover just some of these ministries below.
Children & Youth
Activities for young children and teenagers abound all year long, from the summertime fun of Vacation Bible School to the annual sing-along Christmas Pageant.
Weekly Sunday School classes are geared toward children ages 5-12 and youth 13-16. Nursery is available for those under four years of age. During worship, children are invited to listen to the pastor share a special message just for them.
Making crafts, hunting Easter eggs, taking road trips to Six Flags-- there are lots of exciting things to do at Keithville UMC!
Adults
Fellowship is a key ingredient to the thriving adult ministry at Keithville UMC. Adults engage in Sunday School classes, weekly Bible study series, committee meetings and other active groups like United Methodist Men (UMM) and United Methodist Women (UMW).
Music & Arts
People at Keithville UMC take an active role in the visual and auditory ministries of the church. From designing a themed worship space through altar decoration to creating diverse music that glorifies God, there are many outlets for creativity in worship.
- Chancel Choir: Rehearses once a week to prepare music for each worship service. Accompanied by piano and organ. Seeks to facilitate a worshipful environment through musical leadership.
- Praise Band: Comprised of piano, guitar, bass, drums and vocalists. Focus on contemporary worship. Offers another channel through which worshippers can connect with God.
- Audio/Video Recordings: Each week the worship service is recorded on DVD to provide shut-ins and other absent congregants the chance to participate in vicarious communal worship.
- Altar Design: Provides visual guidance and focus for worship.
Missions & Outreach
A central goal at Keithville UMC is to show compassion to the neighboring community through outreach programs. That is why Keithville UMC hosts after school tutoring services for struggling local students. We also donate blood quarterly, collect Thanksgiving baskets and participate in the Angel Tree drive at Christmas time. Special projects are announced as they are planned. Everyone is invited to take part.
